As one of the 58 colleges that comprise the North Carolina Community College System, Edgecombe Community College is a multi-campus institution meeting the educational and training needs of over 10,500 students. The college offers 79 curriculum programs resulting in two-year degrees, one-year diplomas, or certificates. Through the Continuing Education division, ECC offers approximately 1200 continuing education classes annually, including customized training to local business and industry through its Business and Industry division.

ECC’s workforce development areas include:

With an operating budget of $22.5 million, ECC has campuses in Tarboro and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. ECC’s main campus is located on 120 acres 2.5 miles south of Tarboro and comprises nine buildings. Its Rocky Mount campus covers one city block and comprises two buildings.

ECC's Fleming Building is a 70,000-square-foot, two-story facility which houses classrooms, computer labs, offices, and rentable spaces for meetings and conferences, plus an elegant atrium for exhibits, receptions and social events. The centerpiece is the spacious Keihin Auditorium, a popular 1,029-seat venue for concerts, plays, and other stage productions.
