Located in the geographic center of the Eastern Seaboard, Edgecombe County is a part of the gateway to the Sunbelt. Interstate-quality US 64 traverses the county east to west giving exceptional access to I-95 and the East Coast's major markets. Easy connections with Interstates 40 and 85, via US 64, open the way to an overland transportation system which has earned North Carolina its reputation as the "Good Roads State". The Center is about one hour's drive from Raleigh, the state capital, and just over one hour from the world famous Research Triangle Park.

Power
Site served from 2 transmission lines and 2 distribution circuits. One line is a 230 KV that feeds an express circuit from a 30/40 MVA power transformer. The other power transformer is a 20/30 MVA unit, fed from a 115 KV transmission line. In an emergency situation, site has the capability of being served from 2 other substations, giving a total of 4 back-up feeders, providing high power reliability.
