Serving as a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), the Tarboro Police Department maintains a fully functional 911 center providing emergency dispatch services for police and fire operations. Similarly, they also dispatch for non-emergency services, such as the Town of Tarboro Electric Department and Public Works. With a total of five Telecommunicators, there is one assigned to every patrol shift with the center being staffed at all times. The Tarboro Police-Fire Communications Center is supervised by an Administrative Sergeant/PSAP Manager. The Commander of the Communications Division is Lieutenant Keith "Moose" Hale, a 30 year veteran of the agency.
