Household waste is collected twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Fridays on your assigned collection days.  Household waste must be placed in the brown roll-out container and at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.   Household waste should not be mixed with yard waste.

Yard waste will be collected on Wednesday of each week.  Yard waste should be placed in the green roll-out container and at curbside by 7:00 a.m. each Wednesday morning.  Yard waste consists of anything that grows (grass, leaves, pine straw, limbs, etc.).  Yard waste should never be mixed with household waste (paper, plastic, cardboard or anything else that does not grow).  Yard waste should also be free from broken glass or other sharp objects.  Piles of yard waste too big to be picked up by the collectors on Wednesday will be picked up on the day they are scheduled to be in your area Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. 

ANY TREES CUT DOWN BY A CONTRACTOR (ANYONE PAID TO DO THE JOB) MUST BE HAULED OFF BY THAT PERSON OR CONTRACTOR.  THIS INCLUDES LANDSCAPING.

Recyclables should be placed in the red container and at the curb by 7:00 a.m.  Recyclables will be collected once a week on Thursdays or Fridayson the same day household waste is collected.  Items accepted for recycling are Category 1 and 2 plastic containers; brown, green and clear glass; corrugated cardboard; aluminum cans and newspapers. Motor oil should be put in gallon jugs with screw on tops.

White goods:  refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters, air conditioners, freezers, etc. are collected on Wednesdays.  Along with white goods we will pick up anything metal:  lawn mowers, grills, bicycles, heaters, swing sets, fire extinguishers, etc.

Construction materials (work done by resident not contractor) will be picked up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday on the day scheduled for your area. 

A CONTRACTOR MUST HAUL OFF CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL FROM THE RESIDENCE.

***NOTE CHANGE IN PICK UP DAY FOR MATTRESSES***    7/22/15

Mattresses and box springs are picked up on the day the boom truck is scheduled to be in your area Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Microwaves and small pieces of furniture should be picked up with household trash on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday.  Large pieces of furniture will be picked up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday on the day scheduled for your area.

TV’s , Computers and Computer Equipment will now be picked up separately on Wednesday – They must be placed at the curb and not in the brown container.

Paint:  Must be dried completely with sand before it will be picked up.

The Town does not pick up tires, car parts, gas, fuel or any type of canister that contained any fuel.

WHAT TO PLACE IN YOUR RECYCLING BIN

Plastic:
#1 clear & green soda bottles and other jars, #2 milk, detergent, bleach & other bottles & jugs. Look for the number on the bottom of the container. Please rinse & remove caps. No motor oil or anti-freeze containers.

Glass:
Clear, brown & green bottles and jars. Please rinse & remove lids.

Aluminum:
Aluminum beverage cans only. No aluminum foil or pie pans.

Newspapers and old telephone books:  
Do not bundle or bag.

Corrugated cardboard:

Motor Oil: 
Place in a clear plastic one gallon jug with a secure fitting lid.
