First Place in Certification Trials for Individual & Team Scoring

Formed in 1991, the Tarboro Police Department K-9 unit consists of four handlers and their canine partners who are always prepared to deploy their services to the community any time they are needed. The canines and handlers are members of the U.S. Police Canine Association and have completed annual certification standards accordingly. Our canine teams have scored above the required certification standards in training areas such as obedience, agility, article search, narcotics search and suspect apprehension. Members of the Tarboro Police Department K-9 unit regularly place in the Top 10 in U.S. Police Canine Association certification trials, including first place wins for Individual and Team Scoring.
